I don't have an Apple and beyond the ITunes on my computer I wouldn't consider myself a consumer of the company's products, however, I've always been a distant admirer of how the company has managed to stay relevant and revolutionize the way we look at computing. One of the films coming to the Wisconsin Film Festival is dedicated to Apple, called Macintosh: The Film. The film is described by the website as:

"...a documentary that explores the many ways Apple Computer (now Apple, Inc.) has changed the world. Whether a long time Mac fanatic or new to computers, Welcome to Macintosh takes you from the early days of the Apple-I to the latest and greatest Apple has to offer."

Other films that have been announced include A Maine Story, Song Sung Blue, and Skills Like This.

Although the state has yet to announce the Michael Mann directed and Johnny Depp starring film Public Enemies will be shooting in Wisconsin, right here in madison this weekend they held a casting call for extras. Ryanwiz has some pictures of the line for the casting call on his Flickr profile.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ran an excellent article this weekend taking a hard look at the potential for Wisconsin gaming companies. They spoke with two Madison region based companies, Raven Software and Big Rooster. The article lays out a number of perceptions that Wisconsin needs to bust in order to thrive, including:

1. "Some opinions that need to change include dispelling the myth that Wisconsin is a year-round 'Arctic hell hole' - despite the current winter - and the national misconception that the state doesn't have enough high-tech talent or artistic minds to help fill game firms."

2. "showing the national and international industry that Wisconsin is a smart, creative place to build electronic entertainment"
