With Michael Mann's team still scouting locations around Wisconsin to shoot the Johnny Depp and Christian Bale (and freshly rumored Channing Tatum) vehicle Public Enemies (most recently seen in Ashland near former John Dillinger hideout Little Bohemia) Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton is gearing up to make a serious sales call to the film industry at the Sundance Film Festival. Lawton is packing her bags and heading out to Park City, Utah for a January 21 meeting where she hopes to convince some industry folk to bring their film productions to the state and take advantage of new tax incentives. She will report on the results when she returns January 22. Joining Lawton will be Film Wisconsin Executive Director Scott Robbe. We hope they will ask the industry folks to come check out the Wisconsin Film Festival happening April 3-6.
Lawton isn't the only Madison representative currently at the famous film festival which opened yesterday. A crew from Sundance Cinemas - Madison is already on the ground checking out potential films that they can bring back to Madison at some point in the coming year.
