If you thought Halloween ended when they street swept State Street, think again. Madison has plenty more reasons to keep applying make-up and costumes. Vampire Jedi anyone (or would that be Vampire Sith)? Below are some ideas:
Zombie Tuesday!: No matter how hard we try the zombies just refuse to stay in the ground here in Madison. They lurched down State Street a couple weekends ago and on Tuesday will be taking part in a Zombie Dance Party at the King Club. UW-Madison's student radio will be hosting this event.
Rock -n- Roll Wednesday: As if we haven't hyped it enough, Wednesday brings us our very own Hallow Rockin' Ween. Wear whatever you wish to this event featuring Madison bands channeling acts including the Beatles, Clash, Ramones, Misfits, Velvet Underground, and Madonna. Starts at 8 p.m. at the High Noon.
Jedi Thursday!: For some reason I'll be MCing this Chad Vader event that will be doubling as a fundraising event for the Foundation on Retaining Creative Energy (full disclosure, I'm on the board of directors). We'll watch all of the episodes of Chad Vader, see a rare full band performance by the Buffali, and I'll ask participants Star Wars trivia. Also at the High Noon. Starts at 7 p.m.
Day of the Dead (and Undead) Friday!: Friday is Dia de Los Muertos and is also the first Friday of the month. That means Madison's monthly arts crawl will be unrolling across the city. This month the crawl takes a twist in honor of the holiday by asking participants to dress up as vampires. Vampires are technically undead, but it still works.
Leather and Lace Saturday! Don your finest leather or your skimpiest lace and head on over to the Inferno. The first Saturday of every month means leather and lace night with the best industrial, ebm, powernoise, and more spun by DJ Mike Carlson.
Crystal Sunday!: Sunday is the Crystal Corner Bar's 60th Anniversary party. There isn't really a costume theme, but Dane101 would like to encourage attendees to dress up like Waylon Nate Palan as the Hometown Sweethearts will be providing the atmosphere.
Four Star Monday!: Speaking of anniversaries, Four Star Video Heaven is also celebrating another year in the fine city of Madison. In addition to prizes for answering trivia, attendees who come in costume will be judged accordingly. Music will be provided by United Sons of Toil.
